Facemodeling® 90' — Manual Therapies, Frederiksberg

About the treatment

Facemodeling® is the most advanced facial massage we offer. It combines unique manual techniques into a single, individually tailored therapy based on a holistic approach to the person—their body, emotions, breathing pattern, and posture. The treatment encompasses not only the face, neck, and décolleté, but also the back, ribs, chest, and shoulders. This treatment is for those who expect comprehensive facial work and a thorough, unconventional approach. You won't find this type of therapy anywhere else in Denmark.

Facemodeling® is a natural, non-invasive facial contouring method aimed at lifting the skin, mitigating the signs of aging, and restoring the so-called "factory settings"—greater freedom and balance of tissues. In this therapy, we aim to gradually release tension and work on acquired patterns that have become ingrained in the body over the years and influence the appearance of the face.

Precise work encompasses both superficial and deeper tissues. It's important not only to enhance contours but also to relieve tension that affects facial expression, proportions, and body contours. This is a multi-stage process of facial remodeling and bodywork, so subsequent treatments may vary—each one is tailored to your current needs.

It's 90 minutes of specialized work, during which we combine different techniques according to your needs—rather than performing one fixed massage regimen.

Your visit, step by step

Is this treatment for you?

If you are looking for the most comprehensive manual treatment that meets the most demanding needs, Facemodeling® is for you.

This treatment is for those who want to non-invasively improve their facial appearance, achieve a rejuvenating effect, and restore skin vitality. It's particularly well-suited to the needs of mature, sagging skin that lacks radiance and elasticity. Choose it if you notice sagging cheeks, a less defined jawline, deepening nasolabial folds, or wrinkles that give your face a tired appearance.

During treatment, we can also focus on the areas around the eyes, eyebrows, and lips, addressing tension that contributes to a heavy gaze, drooping corners of the mouth, and the visibility of red lips. Relaxing the surrounding tissues can help enhance the natural shape of the lips and give them a fuller appearance.

This treatment is also recommended for those prone to swelling, lymphatic congestion, and bags under the eyes. We also address limited tissue mobility, tension in scar tissue, and differences in muscle tone, which can accentuate facial asymmetry.

If you clench your jaw, grind your teeth, or struggle with bruxism, relaxing your masseter muscles, cheeks, and the tension in your neck and nape can be an important part of your session.

Therapy can complement orthodontic, dental, and speech therapy. In the case of preparation for facial plastic surgery, convalescence, or recent aesthetic medicine procedures, the scope and timing of the massage are determined in accordance with the recommendations of the treating physician.

Before making an appointment, please read the contraindications listed below on the website.

What happens during your visit?

We begin by discussing your expectations, health status, and previous treatments. We want to understand which areas of your face you'd most like to focus on, where you feel tension, and what results you'd like to achieve. Then We assess the condition of your skin, muscle tone, and tissue mobility to determine the direction of treatment.

After thoroughly cleansing the skin, we move on to a customized treatment. Remember that much of the massage is performed on dry skin, without the use of oil or cream. The individual techniques complement each other. During the treatment, We use, among other things:

  • Myoplasty — deep work with muscles and fascia, focused on releasing persistent tension and improving tissue flexibility.
  • Osteoplasty — precise manual work on the musculoskeletal structures, taking into account their interrelationships and the mobility of the surrounding tissues.
  • Acupressure — carefully selected pressures, complementing work on tension and relaxation.
  • Interplastic or intraoral massage — treatment of the cheeks and lip area, including from the inside of the mouth. This allows for access to areas difficult to access during external massage. This step is performed wearing disposable gloves.
  • Drainage and modeling techniques — work aimed at reducing swelling, enhancing the contours of the face, and improving the appearance of specific areas.

The proportions between each stage vary depending on your needs. One session might focus more on the masseters and tension release, while another might focus on drainage, the eye area, or contouring the lower face.

The work is deep and precise, and its intensity is tailored to your sensitivity. Some tense areas may be tender, but we remain in constant contact throughout the treatment to ensure your comfort.

What results can you expect?

Facemodeling® combines facial aesthetics with muscle and fascia relaxation. After just one session, you may notice a more rested appearance, greater ease of facial expression, and a change in the perception of tension.

Depending on the needs of your tissues, we work on:

  • Facial contouring – enhancing the jawline, cheek contours, and lower face.
  • A natural lifting effect – visually lifting the cheeks and corners of the mouth, and creating a more open, rested look.
  • Reducing wrinkles and folds – especially those made more visible by persistent muscle tension.
  • Improving the appearance of the lips – enhancing their natural shape, better highlighting the redness of the lips, and relaxing the area around the mouth.
  • Reducing puffiness – in the cheeks, lower face, and under-eye area. If dark circles are associated with swelling, they may also become less visible.
  • Improving the elasticity and appearance of the skin – giving it a smoother, more well-groomed appearance and restoring radiance and a more even tone.
  • Relieving deep tension – in the masseter muscles, cheeks, forehead, neck, and décolleté.
  • Softening facial features and visible asymmetry—to the extent they are affected by differences in muscle tone and swelling.
  • Improving the mobility of tissues around scars—if their condition and healing stage allow for manual manipulation.
  • Improving the appearance of the neck and décolleté—relaxing and reducing swelling can give the neck a visually slimmer, elongated appearance.
  • Preparing tissue for surgery—by working on tissue tension and mobility. This can be an important element of an individualized surgical preparation plan, established with the surgeon, with the condition of the tissues and subsequent recovery in mind.
  • Supporting postoperative recovery—by carefully selecting appropriate work on swelling, tension, elasticity, and scar mobility. We introduce massage only after the wound has fully closed and healed, when the tissues are sufficiently strong, and the treating physician has approved manual manipulation.
  • Preparing for treatments using botulinum toxin or fillers—by loosening tense areas and working on the condition of the tissues. We match the massage session to the planned procedure and the recommendations of the injector.
  • Post-Botox or filler care and manual work—maintaining an appropriate interval and using techniques adapted to the areas being treated. In our practice, We perform massages at least one month after botulinum toxin injection and at least two months after fillers, provided the physician performing the procedure does not recommend a longer break. The work focuses on tissue comfort, local circulation, and tension in the surrounding areas.
  • Preparation for or during orthodontic treatment—by relaxing the masseter muscles, cheeks, perioral area, and neck. This therapy can support comfort and adaptation to braces, and its scope is adjusted according to the orthodontist's recommendations.

Another important element is the stimulation of local circulation, supporting tissue nourishment. The effect of well-groomed skin is complemented by care and a feeling of deep relaxation.

We recommend a series of three to four treatments to begin with, with the frequency tailored to your needs. We can then continue the therapy once a month to regularly address tension and maintain the results.

Results depend on the initial condition of the tissues, established habits, and regularity of visits. Therefore, we tailor each session to the current needs of your face, ensuring that subsequent treatments form a coherent treatment plan.

Facemodeling® is Manual Therapies' most advanced facial massage—a targeted therapy tailored to your individual needs.

FAQ

Good to know

Which variant should I choose?

Facemodeling® 90 is an advanced massage and the best choice in our offer if you want comprehensive care for your face, neck and décolleté – combining contour modeling with muscle relaxation and work on the appearance of the skin.

Two time options are available: 90 and 120 minutes. The basic scope of the therapy remains the same. The 120-minute version also includes facial cupping or cosmetic acupuncture, tailored to your needs and contraindications.

You can also book both complementary treatments separately. However, we created the 120-minute option so you can immediately choose a full session combining Facemodeling® with additional work on the condition and appearance of your face.

90 minutes of comprehensive work or 120 minutes of extended care – choose the space your face needs.

Why is the Facemodeling method the best?

The strength of Facemodeling® lies in its precision and personalized approach. The therapist considers the interrelationships between muscles, fascia, and surrounding tissues, selecting techniques tailored to the needs of each individual face. This is Aneta Hregorowicz-Gorlo's proprietary method, combining myoplasty, intraoral work, acupressure, and aesthetic kinesiotaping, among other techniques.

The method is practised by therapists licensed in Facemodeling® in many European countries, as well as in the United States and Canada. Manual Therapies is currently the only clinic in Denmark licensed by Facemodeling® Academy.

At our clinic, we combine advanced techniques with extensive knowledge, therapist experience, and careful observation of tissue reactions. Each session has a specific goal, and our approach evolves to meet your needs.

Your face has its own story. We choose a treatment that reflects it.

How often should I repeat the Facemodeling® massage?

We typically recommend one session every 3–4 weeks. This regular schedule allows you to plan your next steps and monitor your facial reactions.

Facemodeling® is available in many countries in Europe and the US, where clients have incorporated it into their self-care routines beyond regular beauty appointments. They practice such treatments regularly, once a month, as a mandatory therapy to support and maintain a fresh and youthful appearance.

We tailor the frequency to your needs. If you're experiencing renewed tension, jaw clenching, or swelling, talk to us about scheduling another appointment.

One visit is the beginning. Regular care allows you to consciously build a long-term plan based on regular facial massages over the years.

How to prepare for a visit?

Please arrive a few minutes early to ensure a relaxed start. Before your massage, please tell us about your health, allergies, and previous treatments. If you require any special accommodations, please contact us before your appointment.

If you have severe allergies or skin that reacts to many cosmetics, choose products you're familiar with and can tolerate well. We use high-quality skincare, but individual sensitivities may also be related to ingredients.

On the day of your massage, avoid alcohol and large, heavy meals. Drink water regularly before and after your session, according to your body's needs. Well-tolerated herbal infusions and teas can also be part of your daily hydration routine.

Ensure freshness and personal hygiene. After a workout or any significant exertion, shower and change your clothes. If you choose the Face Cupping option, please arrive without facial hair in the areas where the cups will be used—beards and mustaches prevent proper contact between the cups and the skin.

Wash your hair and scalp on the day of your appointment or the day before. This area is also included in the massage, so please keep it free of any accumulated sweat, sebum, and styling products. We strive to keep hair as clean as possible during the process.

Since the treatment also includes an intraoral phase, remember to maintain good oral hygiene. Please inform us before your session if you have any painful lesions, inflammation, or recent dental procedures.

Choose comfortable clothing that allows you to freely expose your neck, décolletage, and shoulders. All towels, sheets, and accessories are provided on site.

We finish the treatment with a skincare routine tailored to your complexion and the application of a UV filter. You'll leave with nourished skin, ready for the rest of the day.

Who is this treatment for? Indications

We offer Facemodeling® to women and men who are looking for comprehensive manual work on the appearance of their face and its muscle tone.

It is worth considering it for:

loss of firmness and elasticity of the skin of the face, neck and décolleté;

less pronounced oval, drooping cheeks and a less pronounced jaw line;

wrinkles and deepening nasolabial folds;

drooping corners of the mouth and tension around the lips;

tired appearance of the eye area;

swelling, bags under the eyes and a feeling of heaviness in the face;

gray complexion lacking freshness and radiance.

Therapy can also address the needs of individuals with excessive masseter tension, teeth clenching, chewing muscle strain, neck and nape tension, and limited tissue mobility. Work can also address healed scars and their surroundings if they cause a tight sensation or restrict movement.

Facemodeling® can complement your preparation plan for facial or breast plastic surgery and postoperative care. In such cases, we discuss the date, area, and intensity of treatment with your doctor. Scar massage begins only after the wound is fully closed and you have received the surgeon's approval; during the recovery phase, we select techniques appropriate to the healing process.

If you're planning Botox, fillers, or other aesthetic medicine treatments, please let us know in advance. We'll schedule a treatment based on your doctor's recommendations.

Before booking, please read the contraindications below on the website.

Can I massage my face if I have Botox or fillers?

Yes, provided the appropriate interval is observed and the recommendations of the doctor who performed the injections are followed. At our clinic, we wait at least 4 weeks after botulinum toxin and 2–4 months after fillers. These are our practice guidelines; the exact timing and scope are agreed individually.

Botulinum toxin temporarily limits the activity of selected muscles. After a period determined by your doctor, you can tailor the massage to your current tissue tension and care needs. Immediately after injections, do not massage or apply intense pressure to the injected areas.

When it comes to fillers, the type of filler, the location and depth of its injection, and the healing process are all important. Therefore, the possibility of deep manual work is always discussed with the physician performing the procedure.

Before your appointment, please provide us with the injection dates, areas injected, and the names of the products used. This will allow us to tailor the techniques, pressure, and treatment areas to your specific situation.

When should I reschedule my appointment? Contraindications

Aesthetic medicine and dental procedures

  • Thread lifts — we do not recommend facial massage for at least 6–12 months after this procedure.
  • Botox — in our practice, we wait at least 4 weeks after botulinum toxin injection, unless the doctor recommends a longer interval. Botox is not a contraindication; massage is recommended to activate inactive tissues and support their nourishment once the recovery period has been observed.
  • Fillers — in our practice, we wait 2–4 months after injection. The exact timing depends on the product, injection site and recommendations of the doctor who performed the treatment.

Always inform us about any previous surgical procedures, aesthetic medicine procedures, and dental treatments—even those performed a long time ago. Your allergies and sensitivities are also important information. This will help us determine the appropriate intensity and scope of treatment.

How often can I repeat this treatment?

If you want to maintain your results, consistency is key. We recommend scheduling appointments every 3–4 weeks, with the intervals individually adjusted to your tissue response, treatment intensity, and your needs.

After a session, you may notice a more rested appearance, muscle relaxation, a reduction in the feeling of heaviness in your face, and a softer expression of your features.

The work is also focused on:

clearer facial contours and jawline; improved appearance of the neck and quality (density) of the skin on the neck;

improving the appearance of skin firmness and elasticity;

reducing the visibility of fine lines and wrinkles;

fresher appearance of the eye and lip area;

reducing swelling;

restoring the complexion's radiant appearance.

Each session may have a slightly different focus and facial area. Initially, we may focus more on general muscle relaxation. In subsequent sessions, we will focus more specifically on specific areas: the appearance of the neck, tension and wrinkles on the forehead, the area around the mouth (e.g., vertical lines around the mouth), or the lower face. We maintain a holistic approach while paying special attention to the areas that are most important to you.

The extent and duration of changes depend on the initial condition of the tissues and individual response to the massage. However, our many years of observation and practice show that regular facial massages definitely bring many benefits and satisfaction to our clients. Regular visits should be combined with good skincare, regular hydration, nutritious nutrition, good sleep, and daily habits that support well-being.

Is Facemodeling® recommended for pregnant women?

Due to the intensity of the therapy in our clinic, we do not offer Facemodeling® to pregnant women.

If you're looking for a facial massage, we can offer a gentler, relaxing version of the Japanese facelift. Be sure to inform your therapist if you're pregnant before your appointment—we'll tailor the treatment to your well-being, contraindications, and your doctor's recommendations.

For expectant mothers, we especially recommend the "Pregnancy massage — ritual"—a 90-minute pregnancy massage ritual. It combines gentle dry body brushing, a gentle massage, and a moisturizing facial. Each step is tailored to your needs, and special pregnancy pillows help comfortably support your body.

You can change position, request a break, or skip a specific stage at any time. We encourage you to do so from the second trimester onwards, provided there are no contraindications and after consulting your doctor.

Can I cancel or postpone my appointment?

Of course. Please let us know about any changes to your plans at least 24 hours before your scheduled session. You can change or cancel your appointment through the booking system, by phone at +45 31 70 44 50, or by email at hello@manualtherapies.dk.

Late cancellation may incur a fee of 50% of the treatment price. Not attending without prior notice may incur a fee of 100%.

If a sudden, unforeseen situation arises, contact us directly and we will discuss available solutions.

It's an opportunity to relax, unwind, and discover how a relaxed face can transform its expression. A fresher appearance, greater comfort, and time dedicated solely to yourself make this gift truly personal.

What is the difference between Japanese lifting massage and Facemodeling®?

The Japanese Kobido lifting massage combines relaxation, drainage, and dynamic lifting techniques. Characterized by rapid, rhythmic hand movements, interspersed with more gentle massage stages.

Facemodeling® is a more advanced and extensive, individually planned manual therapy. It combines various methods of working with muscles and surrounding tissues, including intraoral techniques performed inside the mouth. It allows for more attention to specific areas and allows for varying the proportions of individual steps as needed.

Choose Kobido if you're looking for a combination of lifting massage, relaxation, and facial rejuvenation. Choose Facemodeling® if you're looking for the most comprehensive therapy we offer, with more precise treatment of specific tensions and areas of the face.
