Cupping 45' — Manual Therapies, Frederiksberg

About the treatment

Targeted cupping therapy on a selected area of the body, with an emphasis on relaxing tense muscles and reducing feelings of overload. This is time dedicated to areas that need attention most—for example, the back, neck, shoulders, or legs.

Cupping works by applying a vacuum, gently lifting the skin and affecting the underlying tissues. This allows us to supplement manual therapy with a different type of stimulus than traditional pressure. We adjust the vacuum strength and method of application to your sensitivity and the tension in the selected area.

Your visit, step by step

Is this treatment for you?

If you experience back tension, a stiff neck, shoulder strain, or muscle fatigue after exercise, this treatment may be for you.

This is a great option for those who work long hours at a desk, engage in repetitive movements, or engage in strenuous physical labor. It also works well as a complementary bodywork program for active individuals who feel tense after training and need to unwind.

Choose it if you want focused work on a specific area instead of a full-body massage.

Before your visit, please familiarize yourself with the contraindications listed below. Also, let us know if you have a tendency to bruise and are taking any anticoagulant medications.

What happens during your visit?

We begin with a brief discussion about where you feel tension, when it occurs, and what you expect from the treatment. We review any contraindications and determine the area and direction of treatment.

Then We prepare the tissues and we begin cupping. Depending on your needs, We move the cups across the skin or leave them in for a short time in selected areas. We adjust the intensity based on your sensations—the treatment may be noticeable, but it shouldn't require significant pain.

What results can you expect?

Primarily, it relaxes the treated area, reduces stiffness, and allows for greater freedom of movement. The treatment can help alleviate discomfort associated with muscle tension and overuse.

The negative pressure stimulates local circulation, and the tissue work can bring a feeling of lightness and relaxation. The effects and their duration depend on the cause of the tension, daily stresses, and the individual body's response.

After the treatment, redness or circular, bruise-like marks may remain. These usually gradually fade within one to two weeks. Their intensity does not indicate the treatment's effectiveness.

If tension recurs regularly, we'll work with you to determine the frequency of subsequent visits. Cupping can be alternated with manual massage, adapting the treatment to your body's current needs.

A targeted treatment that helps relax tense muscles, relieve feelings of overload and restore freedom of movement.

FAQ

Good to know

How is Cupping 45 different from a classic body massage?

Cupping 45 combines a short, warming and tissue-preparing manual massage with cupping, allowing you to focus on selected tensions.

During a classic massage, the therapist works with their hands, applying pressure, kneading, and rubbing. Cupping uses a vacuum to gently lift the skin and underlying tissues—a different type of stimulus and sensation than hand pressure.

This option is for those who want to supplement their massage with more intensive, localized work. The vacuum strength is adjusted to suit your sensitivity.

What areas of the body can we focus on during a 45-minute session?

During the 45-minute treatment, we focus on specific areas rather than performing a full-body massage. We can focus on areas such as:

back and shoulder blade area;

shoulders and upper back muscles;

lumbar region;

buttocks and thighs;

calves, if there are no vascular contraindications.

Before we begin, we identify where you feel the most tension. We choose the area that needs attention most and take the time to thoroughly explore it.

Is cupping massage painful and does it leave marks on the skin?

You may feel suction, skin pulling, and local tenderness. The treatment can be intense, but it shouldn't require enduring severe pain. If the sensations are too intense, reduce the vacuum, change the technique, or return to hand massage.

Redness, bruising, or hemorrhages may occur after cupping. These symptoms don't affect everyone and usually fade gradually.

If you would like to avoid visible marks, please let us know before your session - however, we cannot guarantee that they will not occur.

How to prepare for the procedure and what to remember after the visit?

Please arrive in comfortable clothing and take care of your personal hygiene. Avoid alcohol and heavy meals before your session. Please inform us of any medical conditions, medications you are taking, tendency to bruise, varicose veins, or recent treatments.

After the massage, observe your well-being and skin's reaction. If the area is tender, allow it to rest—avoid vigorous rubbing, further cupping, or strenuous exercise that increases discomfort. Drink water as needed.

If blisters, increasing pain, swelling, or signs of infection occur, contact your doctor.

For whom will Cupping 45 be a good choice, and when is it better to avoid it?

This is a proposition for women and men who experience local muscle tension, overload after work or physical activity and prefer a more intense massage.

The procedure is not performed in case of:

active or suspected thrombosis;

fever and active infection;

open wounds, infections and inflammation of the skin at the treatment site;

fresh injuries and fractures;

severe skin irritation or sunburn;

unexplained pain or swelling. pregnancy,

We do not use cupping directly on varicose veins or on skin affected by an active flare-up of eczema or psoriasis. Coagulation disorders, the use of anticoagulants, cancer, or serious chronic illnesses are contraindications to the procedure.

How often should the treatment be repeated and what massages can it be combined with?

Intervals are determined individually, taking into account the intensity of the session and the reaction of the skin and tissues. We do not schedule further cupping in the same area as long as bruising, irritation, or tenderness persists.

Cupping 45 can be used alternately with a relaxing body massage, a deep tissue massage, or a 30, 60, or 90-minute sports massage. If you'd like to end your visit on a more relaxing note, you can add a scalp massage or a foot massage.

Please agree on a combination of treatments when booking so that we can prepare a session of the appropriate length.

Thorough work where you feel the tension and a soothing ending – tailor your visit to your needs.
